Who I am, where I’m from and my Sales Region:
I'm Karen Lindberg Jefferson, one of the few Colorado natives. I cover Colorado, Kansas, Nebraska, New Mexico, and Wyoming.
What ties me to my region:
Born and raised in Denver, I love the proximity to the mountains and having four seasons. I even like shoveling snow. I've traveled to many places and am always happy to get back to the Mile High City.
A bit about myself:
My career has been spent providing solutions as an independent manufacturer’s representative, or training reps how to be reps. My family had a rep firm, so I grew up always knowing my calling was business development...it's not because my degree didn't work out. My wife and I enjoy hiking with our pups, kayaking, mountain biking, xeriscaping, playing board games, and trying new coffees and wines.
Why should agencies choose Utility, Inc.
The same reason I did...ethics, honesty, integrity. Not only is Utility's technology and service head and shoulders above the rest, but Utility cares about its clients and its employees.
What inspired me to select a path working in the public safety sector
Relationships are what make the world go around. I came to Utility because of relationships I'd formed from my previous work as a manufacturer's representative. In my work with public safety, I strive to create meaningful, authentic relationships. My family's rep firm ethos was to make work personal.
What does Transformative Transparency mean to me:
It means being authentic and not holding back. It means being honest without fear. It means knowing where you've been; where you're going; and how you're going to get there.
Why should you trust Utility:
Because Utility cares about you as a person. We care about your safety. We want to improve your life at work. We appreciate the work you do and know you need technology you can trust.
The biggest lesson learned I’d like to share with Public Safety Leaders
Take time to unplug. Use your vacation, you earned it. Share your anxieties with a professional. We're all human and need help processing life. Wear a helmet while biking. Eat your veggies (except lima beans, they're just gross). Laugh often, laugh out loud. Laugh so hard your stomach hurts.
